Position Summary:

Interns
The Athletic Facilities/Operations Internship is ideal for students who are seeking a career in sports. Hours will be available for all HOME Athletic Competitions. Interns will have the opportunity to experience several different aspects and responsibilities. The chance to build connections in the Intercollegiate Athletics profession. Professional development assistance, including resume review and mock interviews will take place at the end of the fall semester for any intern wanting feedback and assistance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Behind the scenes work for all Athletic Events
  • Assist in setting up game day events such as getting the playing surface prepped and ready.
  • In Game responsibilities with teams, coaches, officials, fans, etc.
  • Help assist in all responsibilities with parking, managing fans, security, and game responsibilities on the field.
  • Helps organize necessary in-game support staff (Ticket takers, ushers, EMS, and other support staff) 
  • Works with all areas in Athletics (Leadership, team work, and passion for sports)
  • Attends all Home Athletic Competitions – Football, Soccer, Volleyball
  • Build professional connections for the future
  • All staff will be required to work all Home athletic events.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

- Applicant should possess a genuine interest in athletics and the sports industry.
- Ability to manage time commitment to work athletic events around academic schedule, including evenings, weekends and potentially holidays.
- Ability to work in a time sensitive, high-energy and team-oriented environment with the ability to multitask.
- Must have a positive attitude, take initiative, strong work ethic and dedication to learning.
- Ability to lift 50lbs. or more

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday 8a.m. -5p.m.
Regular and reliable attendance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills and a positive role model for young
adults.
• Ability to work independently in a chaotic environment.
Must be currently enrolled at A-State.
