Join us as at Tassal with both a casual and full-time Farm Attendant role available, and become an integral part of our team, contributing to the Atlantic salmon bathing process alongside our state-of-the-art 'Aqua Spa' – Tassal's dedicated well boat.

As a valued member of the Central Operations crew, your primary base will be at our Dover site, an hour and 15 minutes south of Hobart. In this role, you will spend 60% of your time at Dover. In addition to your main location, you'll have the exciting opportunity to work at our other south-eastern Marine Operations sites. Experience the flexibility of a family-friendly 7/7 roster, meaning you'll work for 7 days and then enjoy 7 days off per fortnight, with each working day comprising 11.4 hours.

This role is dynamic and hands-on, involving various responsibilities such as rope tying, fish care, bathing, net rigging, and general laboring duties on the water. To be considered for this position, you must have previous farming experience or on the water experience, a good work ethic and a coxswain ticket. 

Multiple positions are available: 1x casual, 1x full-time

Daily responsibilities:

·       Safely and securely tying knots to ensure the stability of netting structures.

·       Regularly inspecting and maintaining ropes to prevent wear and tear.

·       Ensuring the health and welfare of the Atlantic salmon is paramount for successful aquaculture.

·       Participating in the planning and execution of bathing procedures.

·       Collaborating with the aquaculture team to optimize bathing processes for maximum effectiveness.

·       Monitoring fish during and after bathing to assess the success of the procedure.

·       Assembling, installing, and repairing net structures.

·       Conducting regular inspections to identify and address any issues with the netting.
