Position Summary:

Under general direction of the Director of Customer Experience, the Lead Line Operations Specialist will perform the duties that are required for aircraft ground handling, fueling and fuel farm operations. This individual will coordinate airport operations activities on a designated shift and perform other duties as required.


  • Marshaling, towing, fueling, and servicing of aircraft                                                                
  • Maintain fuel inventory records                                                                                                        
  • Assist customers                                                                                                                                     
  • Conduct airfield inspections and coordinate airport operation activities                          
  • Clean and maintain all ground handling equipment and airport vehicles, as needed  
  • Oversee hangar operations, as needed 
  • Follow and oversee ATA103 QC program              
  • Maintain budget cost control effectiveness                                                                                

Required Skills/Responsibilities:   

  • Ability to operate a multitude of aircraft ground support equipment
  • Ability to operate copy/fax machines
  • Ability to operate VHF Aircraft Radios
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work alone and track projects to completion without direction
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in written form
  • Must be able to work alone and track projects to completion without direction. Must be able to problem solve and offer solutions to challenges.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years FBO/ Aviation experience

Working Hours:

Lead Operations Specialist will be required to work a combination of days including evening and weekend shifts to provide supervision where needed. Lead Operations Specialist must cover times when a manager is not present. 

This position requires participation with the on-call policy. While on-call personnel are subject to participate in after hour activity if needed. Personnel are expected to respond to all calls in a timely manner.

Phone Coverage:

The position is required to respond to all calls in a timely manner. As a result, a phone allowance will be given to offset the cost of a personal cell phone plan.


This position is expected to set an example for the entire department; thus, a clean, pressed uniform is expected.  Lead Operations Specialist will be issued uniforms that will include 15 pair of pants/shorts and 15 shirts. Uniforms are expected to be pressed and fit appropriately including polished boots. Cleaning of uniforms will be maintained by a profession cleaning service. Uniforms will allow for a professional and functional look. In addition, in compliance with the Hillwood grooming policy.
