Summary:

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is an adult learning membership program designed for inquiring adults, age 50 and "better," who wish to pursue lifelong learning. OLLI offers non-credit lifelong learning experiences and social opportunities in a fun atmosphere.

Responsibilities: 

The OLLI Coordinator works with instructors and community members to develop, offer, manage, and evaluate OLLI classes, trips, and events. The OLLI Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, retention, and management of memberships; financial operations; reporting; marketing; and volunteer committee management. This position reports directly to the Director of Adult Education and Lifelong Learning.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop, organize, manage, and monitor a comprehensive plan for OLLI classes, trips, and events.
  • Develop goals and program strategies in an effort to generate revenue through enrollment and engagement while providing opportunities for the community. 
  • Manage and monitor financial operations including developing budget recommendations and disseminating funding.
  • Write, submit, and manage program and grant proposals.
  • Maintain programmatic and individual records including grant tracking and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans for classes, trips, and events.
  • Facilitate recruitment, retention, and management of memberships.
  • Assist with classes, trips, and events when necessary.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts with instructors, presenters, and vendors.
  • Recruit instructors, staff, work-study students, and volunteers.
  • Interview, hire, and monitor instructors, staff, work-study students, and volunteers.
  • Supervise and train instructors, staff, work-study students, and volunteers.
  • Assess classes, camps, trips, and events and develop continuous improvement plans.
  • Serve as an effective advocate, resource, community liaison, and spokesperson for OLLI at Casper College.
  • Work with OLLI volunteers, members, and other Osher Institutes.
  • Ensure effective communication and strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Utilize department data management system including data management and report analyzation.
  • Serve on committees as assigned.

Work Environment: 

There will be times this position will need to work evenings or weekends depending on events, camps, and trips. Some weeks/events will require more than 40 hours per week. Critical availability before and during a major event and availability for infrequent call in for emergencies with classes, camps, trips, or events. Non-routine occasional work may be spent around the community. Short periods of time will be spent outdoors traveling between campus buildings in various weather conditions. Frequent interaction with the public may occur (students, employees, community members).  Work is usually performed during the normal workday, however, early morning, late evening, and weekend work may be required. Driving college vehicles for activities and events is required. Travel to work-related events, conferences, and other related duties is required.

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a professional environment with a focus on customer service
  • Experience planning, implementing, and assessing informational, educational, or social programs and events 
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and maintain good time management skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency using technology including social media, computers, and software such as MS Office and Google products
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Valid Wyoming motor vehicle license and be insurable under the College’s insurance plan

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Ability to drive college vehicles including multiple passenger vehicles not requiring a commercial driver’s license
