Position: Dietitian Assistant
What You'll Do: As a Dietitian Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in screening patients for nutrition risk, updating nutrition profiles, and adjusting patient menus under the direction of the registered dietitian.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in food service or related fields to contribute effectively to the team.
- Skills:
- Utilize strong English language skills for reading, writing, and verbal communication.
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and colleagues.
- Communicate proficiently with patients and their families of diverse ages.
- Apply knowledge of diet therapy, nutrition screening, and modified diets.
- Use computer skills for data entry.
- Calculate formula nutrients accurately.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Enrollment in Nutrition classes preferred.
- LA County Fire Card.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Clinical Responsibilities:
- Screen patients for nutrition risk and update records in the Kardex.
- Maintain and update clinical nutrition records to reflect physician diet orders, patient allergies, food preferences, and risk levels.
- Modify patient menus based on prescribed diets.
- Perform calorie counts and visit patients for food preferences.
- Accurately document responsibilities using hospital computer systems.
- Professional Development and Quality Improvement:
- Participate in continuing education to support professional development goals and stay informed of recent research and literature.
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of department policies and procedures.
- Engage in departmental performance improvement activities to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Salary Range: $23.00 - $29.53 per hour
