Job Title: Wheeler Marketing Coordinator
Department: Wheeler Opera House
Classification: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range:  $29.08/hour - $32.72/hour
Salary Range:  $29.08/hour - $43.62/hour 


Position Summary: This position performs duties that support marketing, promotion, and public relations efforts of events and programs at the Wheeler Opera House, in a manner consistent with the organization’s values, vision, and mission. 
Supervision Exercised and Received: Works under the direct supervision of the Marketing Director. This is a non-supervisory role.

Essential Job Functions:
Marketing 

•    Demonstrates a general understanding of basic marketing principles and promotional advertising techniques, with a focus on leveraging digital communication outlets to expand reach, build awareness, and enhance audience engagement.
•    Coordinates advertising design, approvals, and media buys across print, out of home (OOH), digital, radio, and streaming outlets. 
•    Collects and coordinates artist assets files for internal and external use. 
•    Coordinates production and distribution of Wheeler branded promotional merchandise, including printed collateral materials and signage. 
•    Collaborates with the Wheeler box office on implementing special promotions and discount strategies.
•    Coordinates vendor accounts, monthly subscriptions, submitting requisitions, accounts payable, and payment processing with the Wheeler business office.
•    Supports growth and organization of Wheeler’s media library and collateral materials.

Social Media, Digital Communications, and Website
•    Collaborates on marketing campaigns by creating content, writing and proofing copy, and designing images for social media posts and e-blasts.
•    Coordinates the scheduling of social media posts, e-blast communications, and other digital assets to maintain consistent communication with Wheeler audiences and the community.
•    Supports digital communication strategies aimed at maximizing the impact of the Wheeler Opera House's social media channels.
•    Assists in maintaining and enhancing the Wheeler Opera House websites (wheeleroperahouse.com and aspenshowtix.com), including content creation, event updates, blog posts, editorial support, and implementation of web accessibility guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Minimum Associates degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Two years of experience in at least three of the following: marketing, digital media content creation, communications, graphic design, live event promotion, public relations, or performing arts administration. 
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite or similar design applications. Must have a basic understanding of computers and online computer-based technology applications, which includes accessing web-based platforms. 
Licenses & Certifications: Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 30 days of start date.
NOTE: Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required abilities, knowledge, and skills as determined by the City of Aspen may be substituted for the requirements above.
Preferred Candidate: 
•    Experience in performing arts administration. 
•    Marketing/PR experience in an arts/not-for-profit setting. 
•    Knowledge of social media content and strategy development
NOTE: This position requires a Criminal Background Check upon hire. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Criminal Background Check. 
Position Type and Work Hours: 
•    Regular full time, hours vary with workload and season schedule. 
•    Evening and weekend hours will be required in addition to normal hours to meet the job requirements, based on season schedule.   
•    Overtime will be required during peak times.
•    Holidays will be required dependent on event schedule.
Work Environment: 
•    Indoors: Office and performing arts center environment
•    Off-Site/Outdoors: Festival locations vary. Operates a vehicle and travels to off-site locations to perform PR and management activities.
