POSITION:    ASSISTANT DIRECTOR/CERTIFICATION ADMINISTRATOR

LOCATION:   CENTER FOR TEACHER PREPARATION & PARTNERSHIPS

JOB SUMMARY: The NJCU Center for Teacher Preparation and Partnerships is a service unit within the College of Education which supports NJCU students, faculty, administration, and stakeholders. The Assistant Director is the liaison between the College of Education and the NJ Department of Education, the Assistant Director will fulfill the role of Certification Administrator by organizing, planning, and directing all aspects of the certification application process. To that end, the Certification Administrator will be responsible for all operations and services provided to NJCU students, completers and alumni seeking DOE issued certificates (instructional, personnel and administrative) for traditional education programs.The Assistant Director assists in the achievement of unit goals, Represent the COE at meetings and supervise support staff as needed through fulfillment of the following:

Ø Provide clinical intern support,

Ø Provide support for clinical orientations,

Ø Update the CTPP website,

Ø Maintain active CEAC membership,

Ø Maintain active Clinical Component Committee membership,

To successfully fill this role, the certification administrator will:

Ø Satisfactorily complete tasks under the direct supervision of the CTPP Director,

Ø Demonstrate a clear understanding of NJ Department of Education Administrative Code for Education,

Ø Possess a clear understanding of Title IV reciprocity guidelines,

Ø Prepare certification information guidance for candidates,

Ø Update certification guidance based on Department of Education updates,

Ø Communicate certification updates to College of Education departments,

Ø Schedule and facilitate certification information sessions,

Ø Attend NJ Department of Education certification training sessions,

Ø Process certification applications and related forms,

Ø Maintain accurate certification records in accordance with Department of Education guidelines,

Ø Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from and accredited college

EXPERIENCE:  Two years of professional experience in an institution of higher education or administration in education or directly related to

the functions of the position.
