What You’ll Do    

The Buyer - Doors & Mouldings is responsible for the procurement of goods to match the monthly supply plan through the implementation of company purchasing agreements as well as spot negotiation as directed. Other responsibilities include building and maintaining supplier relationships, shared ownership of margin, supply forecasting, and work in the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process. This position will also be involved with Supply Chain, cross-functional teams and projects.

Key Relationships:  You will report directly to our Regional Purchasing Manager (Central)

Location: You will be based out of our New Lenox, IL office 

The most critical outcomes for this role are to: 

  • Support the purchasing process for the door category across the region
  • Collaborating with sales, manufacturing, operations and supply chain across the organization
  • Ensure efficient processes and tools are used to synchronize market demand with supply each month.
  • Effectively represent Metrie’s interests when dealing with customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure that business models are tailored to create competitive advantage across markets and channels.

Who You Are  

We would love to hear from you if you have:    

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a purchasing role preferred
  • Ability to travel within the US and Canada
  • Must have a strong understanding and experience with interior doors
  • Loves to support the Sales Teams within the US Pro channel
  • Enjoys providing exceptional customer service and building rapport with existing vendors and internal customers  
  • Passionate about learning, growing your knowledge and skills and have strong analytical skills.  
  • Values matter to you. You bring your true self to work and live by ours values – passion, respect, integrity, collaboration, and excellence.  
  • You demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills  
  • You have excellent organizational skills and effective time management to succeed in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and stakeholders.  
  • You are proficient in web-based computer systems (SAP and Microsoft Office Suite - Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint , Excel)
