Job Title: Box Office Representative, intermittent

Pay Range: $18.41/hour min - $20.34/hour mid - $22.19/hour max
Position Summary: This position reports to Box Office Supervisor. Assists with the sales, event support and customer services operations of the Wheeler Opera House and Aspen Show Tix at the Wheeler.
Supervision Exercised and Received: Position is supervised by the Box Office Supervisor. Position is non-supervisory.
Essential Job Functions:
Box Office
• Assists patrons to meet their ticketing needs, enters purchase information into system, and completes cash or credit card transactions on a computerized ticketing system.
• Assists the Manager on duty with reporting and ticketing needs as necessary. Familiarizes themselves with upcoming events.
• Operates a vehicle to sell tickets at off site venues.
• Updates and reviews upcoming show details.
• Facilitates patron seating issues when ticketing related, resolves conflicts and assures timely start of programs.
• Responds to renter and patron needs, as appropriate.
Cash Handling/Reporting
• Reconciles cash drawer; researches and corrects or otherwise notes for management any discrepancies therein.
Support Services
• Maintains supplies, organizes informational material in lobby areas, merges customers’ accounts, records phone messages, and monitors work spaces for orderliness and cleanliness.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: One year customer service and cash management required. Experience with Box Office, Ticketing and/or event support in an entertainment venue.
Technical Knowledge : Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email.
Licenses & Certifications: Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of start date.
NOTE: This position requires a Criminal Background Check upon hire. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Criminal Background Check.
NOTE: Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required abilities, knowledge and skills as determined by the City of Aspen may be substituted for the requirements above.
Position Type and Work Hours: Intermittent part-time, up to 29-hour work week, Monday through Sunday, hours and days will vary depending on production schedule.
Evenings/Weekends: Required
Weekdays: Occasionally will be required depending on department staffing needs and special events.
Work Environment:
• Indoors: Wheeler Opera House; performance venue environment.
• Outdoors/Off-Site: Occasional offsite and outdoor work environment for special events. Occasional transportation needs between sites. Meetings, and trainings at a variety of city facilities and areas.
Essential Physical Requirements:
• Lifting & Carrying: Occasionally up to 75 lbs. assisted, such as moving tables and chairs. Up to 35 lbs. unassisted, such as picking trash in theatre, taking trash/recycling to dumpster after event and moving boxes/packages.
• Physical: Reaching, climbing stairs, standing, sitting, typing, talking, crouching, kneeling, seeing, driving, and hearing.
