Job Title: Theater Technician I & II

Pay Range (hourly): $24.63/min - $27.09/mid - $29.56/max
Position Summary: Works in cooperation with the Production Manager, Assistant Production Manager, Building Manager and House Manager to prepare the Wheeler Opera house for productions, consistent with the organization’s values and mission statement.
Supervision Exercised and Received: Position works under the direct supervision of the Production Managers.
Essential Job Functions:
Production
• Assists Production Manager in facilitating the technical aspects of all Wheeler Opera House presentations and rentals. Including various aspects of technical production as it relates to load-ins, load-outs, running the presentations, maintaining equipment, and performance space. Assists with maintaining production related records and reports.

• Lighting Expertise: Familiar with and/or trained to operate ETC Gio Console, ETC Paradigm House Lighting Control system and ETC sensor3 Dimming system. Skilled as lighting electrician and set designer.
• Administration: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
• Emotional Intelligence: Ability to remain calm and react in a responsible manner in hectic environments.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: One year (Tech I) or two years (Tech II) of experience in building maintenance to include carpentry, electrical, facility maintenance work and/or sound, lighting, stage management, stage carpentry, or stage rigging.
Technical Knowledge: Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, and Email.
Licenses & Certifications: Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of start date.
NOTE: This position requires a physical examination and Criminal Background Check upon hire. Employment is contingent upon passing a physical examination and Criminal Background Check.
Position Type and Work Hours: Intermittent, 0 to 40 hours per work week, work is on an “as needed” basis.
Evenings/Weekends: Will be required as programming schedule dictates.

• Indoors: Wheeler Opera House; office environment.
• Outdoors/Off-Site: Meetings, trainings, and site visits at a variety of city facilities and areas.
