This is an exciting opportunity for an Analytics Specialist – Aquaculture who is looking to grow their capability and play a key role in delivering high quality data and analytic solutions for our Farming group. As part of Tassal’s Blue Ag-Tech transformation, you will contribute to how we use data to make better decisions, improve farming performance and support a sustainable future. Working within a national business that operates in the fast moving consumer goods and aquaculture sectors, you will join a team that is committed to innovation, continual learning and positive change.

This full time opportunity has arisen within our Smartfarm and Feed team, based at our gorgeous waterfront office in Hobart. You will work closely with both Farming operations and our Core Data & Analytics team, helping define, build and operate our suite of analytic products. This is a role for someone who enjoys working cross functionally, solving problems, and turning diverse datasets into meaningful insights. If you bring experience in SQL, reporting tools, data visualisation and have the desire to uplift analytics capability within a growing business, we would love to hear from you.

 

What does success look like?

  • Building strong relationships with Farming and Data & Analytics teams to understand business needs and deliver practical analytic solutions.
  • Developing deep knowledge of our Farming dashboards, data sets and systems to become a trusted subject matter expert.
  • Applying your technical skills to analyse data, improve reporting, and support data quality across Farming operations.
  • Demonstrating resilience, curiosity and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Working autonomously and proactively to identify improvement opportunities, particularly in advanced analytics, AI and ML capabilities.
  • Communicating clearly and collaborating effectively with stakeholders to influence outcomes.
  • Prior experience in SQL, data visualisation (Power BI or Tableau) and analytics is essential.
  • Experience in aquaculture or agriculture is desirable but not required.
