The Job:
This is an exciting role for a skilled and driven Analytics Engineer who is passionate about data-driven insights, optimisation, and business transformation. This role will be based in either our Head Office at Franklin Wharf in Hobart or our new office in Sydney Olympic Park in a hybrid WFH/WFO setting.
You will be working in the Digital & Data team to support analytics initiatives across the company. We have an extensive data infrastructure already in place and, in this role, you will be driving the creation, implementation, and support of new & existing data solutions across farming, supply chain, processing & other functions within Tassal.
Tassal is part of the Cooke Inc group, as such, you'll also have opportunities to collaborate on global projects, sharing expertise and best practices with international teams across the broader organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
Data Modelling & Optimisation: Build and optimise data models to ensure scalability and high performance
Data Pipelines & Transformation: Develop and maintain automated data pipelines using Databricks jobs, ADF, dbt or other tools; ensuring accurate and efficient data transformation.
Report & Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive reports and dashboards using SSRS and Power BI to meet business needs.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, ensure data accuracy, and deliver analytical insights that drive decision-making.
Process Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in data governance, SDLC processes, and analytics workflows.
Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve data-related issues, ensuring smooth and reliable data operations.
About You:
Strong knowledge of data analytics and engineering using any of the following tools: Databricks, Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake and dbt.
Demonstrated knowledge in building and optimising data models to ensure scalability and high performance
Demonstrated knowledge in developing and maintaining automated data pipelines using some of the following tools: Databricks jobs, ADF, dbt via SQL & python
3+ years of experience in data analytics and engineering with proven expertise in relevant tools
Technical business analysis skills with the ability to conduct workshops with different sized groups
An understanding of data governance, quality standards, and process enforcement in data operations
Experience in translating business requirements into technical solutions would be highly advantageous
