About the role

This opportunity is a hands-on position that has a technical and animal health focus.Working with the animal health team you will carry out tasks designed to ensure the ongoing high health and welfare status of our fish.

You will be focused on our farms working a 2/2/5/5 roster shift pattern working from our Margate office but travelling to all our farm sites and working out on the water.Duties will include, but not be limited to, fish health & performance, surveillance sampling, early identification of disease, water sampling, and algae and jellyfish sampling.The successful candidate will also be comfortable analysing data, providing reporting and assisting with ongoing Projects and trials.

About you

To be considered for this role you will be a proactive individual with an interest in Aquaculture, the ability to learn new skills and follow detailed and sometimes complex procedures correctly and consistently and have an eye for detail and a focus on delivering quality.In addition, you will have:

A full driver's license.

The ability to work long days with 11.4-hour shifts.

Familiarity with the operation of aquaculture or salmon farming practices.

A forklift license (desirable but not essential)

A Coxswain Grade 2 ticket and experience with the operation of vessels <12m (desirable but not essential); and a Certificate III in Aquaculture (or higher)

You will also be technically proficient in a Microsoft 365 environment
