V/Line’s purpose is to connect Victorians through safe, reliable, and accessible transport. We believe in giving all Victorians opportunities through travel and transport – connecting them to jobs, education, family and friends, services, tourism and trade.

V/Line is experiencing significant growth and we’re delivering more services, more trains, cheaper fares, and huge projects. With more than 3700 weekly train and coach services, an expansive freight network and unprecedented rail investment, millions of Victorians depend on us to deliver. You could be one of our 3100 committed team members who are up to the challenge.

About the role

The Procurement Transformation Lead provides senior procurement expertise and quality assurance across the Procurement Transformation Program. This program is delivering process simplification, governance uplift, systems optimisation and capability improvement to strengthen procurement outcomes and ensure strong alignment with public‑sector policy and regulatory expectations.

Acting as a trusted conduit between the Procurement Leadership Team and the Program Team, you will ensure that transformation initiatives are grounded in best‑practice procurement, are operationally practical, and support long‑term sustainability. The role blends strategic advisory input with hands‑on involvement in process design, governance assurance, systems requirements and decision support.

About You

You are an experienced procurement professional with a strong understanding of public‑sector environments and the ability to balance compliance with practicality. You are confident working with senior leaders, translating policy into clear operational guidance, and influencing outcomes through credible, well‑considered advice. You value collaboration, bring a pragmatic mindset, and enjoy contributing to meaningful improvement.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, category management or procurement governance.
  • Strong knowledge of public‑sector procurement frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement transformation, process simplification or operating model change.
  • Ability to confidently advise and influence senior stakeholders.

If your skills or experience don’t exactly match our listed requirements, we still encourage you to apply. We value diverse perspectives and believe in the potential for growth and development.
