You’ll work in collaboration with our team of industry-leading professionals who are dedicated to excellence and innovation, all while enjoying a dynamic and supportive work environment.

Lead Strategic Success

In this role, you will champion critical initiatives and ensure cohesive alignment across V/Line to achieve our strategic goals. The remit of this role is to:

Focus

    • Strategic Leadership: Oversee the development and implementation of our annual rolling 4-year Corporate Plan, aligning key performance indicators and initiatives with our 2030 Strategy.
    • Collaborative Influence: Work with executives and senior leaders to align business plans with our corporate strategy, fostering unity and commitment among senior stakeholders.
    • High-Impact Planning: Support our State Budget submission process, working closely with Finance and other departments to secure funding for strategic priorities and organisational initiatives.
    • Team Development: Mentor and develop a small, high-performing team, enhancing the day-to-day operations of our planning functions.

Scope

    • Corporate Strategy: Oversee the implementation of V/Line’s strategic direction, ensuring alignment with corporate initiatives and performance measures.
    • Corporate Planning: Lead the development of the Corporate Plan, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and securing necessary endorsements – but more importantly, set us up for success by aligning our people and their work with our objectives and priorities and then hold them accountable through regularly progress reporting.
    • Business Case Development: Guide the preparation of robust business cases and funding submissions, collaborating closely with Finance and key stakeholders.
    • Team Development: Develop and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.

Define Your Impact

We are looking for an experienced professional who brings the following:

    • Strategic Vision: Proven track record in strategic planning and corporate strategy development, with the ability to translate high-level strategies into actionable plans.
    • Influential Leader: Natural ability to influence and unite people, remove barriers, and guide teams towards achieving common goals. Share your strategies for keeping people across the business on track to deliver on agreed priorities.
    • Exceptional Communicator: Expertise in communicating complex issues to a diverse range of stakeholders, building strong internal and external relationships.
    • Organisational Capability: High-level planning and organisational skills, adept at balancing complex tasks and tight deadlines.
    • Professional Credentials: Tertiary qualification in a business-related discipline is desirable, along with a broad understanding of the Victorian transport policy setting and landscape.

With senior expertise in planning and corporate development, you are ready to step in and inspire and guide the business in effective and aligned planning.

If you have a passion for driving success and the expertise to lead effectively, we want to hear from you. Join us at V/Line and be a part of our transformative journey.
