University and TAFE student - 2025 Internship Program (Work Experience)

About the role

As a V/Line Intern, you will undertake a tailored work experience placement, engaging with various teams to gain valuable insights and skills that align with your career goals.

 

Key accountabilities include:

  • Participate in up to 120 hours of work experience across one or more teams.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and contribute to team goals.
  • Uphold V/Line’s core values in all interactions.

 

About you

We are looking for enthusiastic students eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment. You should align with V/Line’s values and demonstrate a commitment to community engagement.

 

To be eligible for this unpaid internship, you must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Australian citizen and Victorian regional resident (includes temporarily living in metro areas for studies).
  • Current enrolment as a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year student; master’s candidates may be considered.
  • Provide a signed work experience arrangement form from your university for insurance.
  • Shortlisted applicants must pass a V/Line internship interview.
  • Placement dates and hours will be negotiated; preferences may not be honoured.

 

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

 

  • Foundational knowledge of their study and placement discipline.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Previous work experience in customer service or knowledge of the rail industry (desirable)
