School Aged Student - 2025 Internship Program (Work Experience)

About the role

As a V/Line Intern, you will engage in a customised work experience placement across various teams. You’ll demonstrate a willingness to learn and maintain a professional attitude while embodying V/Line’s core values.

 

Key accountabilities include:

  • Complete up to 5 days of work experience, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM each day.
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to team goals.
  • Uphold V/Line’s values of respect, leadership, responsiveness, human rights, integrity, and accountability.

 

About you

We are looking for enthusiastic students eager to learn and contribute to a team environment. A positive attitude and alignment with V/Line’s values are essential.

 

To be eligible for this unpaid internship, you must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Enrolled in a registered Victorian secondary school or flexible learning provider.
  • Must be an Australian citizen and Victorian resident.
  • Open to Year 10, 11, and 12 students.
  • At least 15 years old at the start of the program.
  • Must provide a signed work experience arrangement form (DET) for insurance coverage.
  • Shortlisted applicants will undergo a V/Line internship interview process.
  • Placement hours are capped at 5 business days, with preferred dates nominated in the application (not all preferences may be honoured).

 

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

 

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Previous work experience in customer service or knowledge of the rail industry (desirable)
