The Residential Youth Counselor (RYC) on JCCA’s Residential Treatment Campus, builds strong, positive relationships with youth, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and empowered within a therapeutic campus community.

Summary of Responsibilities
· Provide supervision and guidance to youth in residential cottages, on campus, and in the community
· Lead and participate in therapeutic, recreational, and skill-building activities
· Transport and accompany youth to appointments, home visits, and community outings
· Support daily routines including hygiene, meals, organization, and school readiness
· Teach and reinforce essential life skills such as emotional regulation, communication, accountability, and self-care
· Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating healthy boundaries and respectful communication
· Build strengths-based, trusting relationships through encouragement and consistency
· Utilize crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe environment
· Partner with clinicians, team members, and families to support treatment goals
· Complete required documentation including daily logs and incident reports
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
· Must be 21 years of age or older
· Ability to pass background checks
· Strong interest in working with youth and young adults in a residential setting
· Valid NY, NJ, or CT driver’s license preferred

Salary: $18.50 -$23.00 ***differential offered for driver license and overnight shifts
