POSITION SUMMARY:  

The Assistant Residence Supervisor reports to the Residence Supervisor. The Assistant Residence Supervisor will work in collaboration with the Residence Supervisor in the overall operation of the assigned residence program. Under the Supervision of the Residence Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor assures quality services by providing an environment that is conducive to the well-being of individuals and in accordance with federal, state, local, and organization regulations and policies. Work schedules and locations are subject to change, based on residential and program needs.

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

In partnership with the Residence Supervisor:

  • Ensures that the program is adequately and appropriately staffed and monitored.
  • Ensures the appropriate training of staff who are assigned to the Residence.
  • Provides supervision to the employee’s assigned by the Residence Supervisor.
  • Demonstrates and models effective methods to teach existing positive and replacement behaviors to individuals.
  • Supports staff in developing their technical skills through electronic documentation and communications.
  • Ensures that the program meets the guidelines and regulations which govern residential operations.
  • Tracks program and individual progress to ensure further program development.
  • Works closely with families and individuals to ensure the program meets their needs and expectations
  • Responds to all correspondence promptly and professionally, meeting required timeframes.
  • Ensures the proper documentation and reporting of all incidents and events are accurate and timely submissions.
  • Compiles other reports and data for management review as assigned by Residence Supervisor.
  • Ensures that appropriate training and documentation of training for individuals and staff is up to date and meets regulatory and agency standard.
  • Attends meeting with the interdisciplinary teams as assigned by the Residence Supervisor.
  • Assist in developing internal cottage systems to support accountability of residents, behavioral expectations and an atmosphere that encourages positive peer and adult relationships and addresses the treatment needs of the residents.
  • In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, participate in the development of and supervise implementation of behavioral plans, ICSPs, safety plans and all other opportunities for youth development.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma required; Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience working with youth in a residential treatment setting
  • Administrative experience demonstrating leadership capability
  • Must be proficient in basic computer, applications including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Valid NYS Driver license is highly preferred; NJ or CT license is acceptable

Salary:

$50K - $57K
