The role:

Join Tassal’s Mission Beach Prawn Farm as a Farm Attendant, where you’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring optimal prawn health and farm operations. This position is perfect for team-oriented individuals who thrive in outdoor, physically active environments and are passionate about sustainable aquaculture. You’ll work as part of a safety-focused team to maintain our premium prawn production, with tasks ranging from feeding and health checks to farm maintenance and record-keeping.

This is a casual role which will involve working flexible shifts which could include days/afternoons, nights & weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and feed prawns, conduct health checks, and report any concerns.
• Perform general farm maintenance and upkeep of ponds and equipment.
• Accurately log farm data using iPads to track prawn growth and conditions.
• Work safely and efficiently as part of a close-knit team to meet production goals.
• Uphold Tassal’s Zero Harm culture in all daily activities.

Role requirements:

• Comfortable working in hot, humid, and wet conditions (including wading in ponds).
• Physical fitness for manual labour and outdoor work.
• Attention to detail for monitoring prawn health and maintaining records.
• Driver’s licence (manual preferred) and reliable transport to site.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends).
• Team player with a safety-first mindset.
• The legal right to work in Australia.

Desirable

• Forklift ticket and experience.
• Prior experience in aquaculture, farming, or outdoor labour.
