A day in the life:

As a Field Archaeologist, you will:

• Participate in fieldwork, research and analysis as needed
• Record archaeological and traditional use sites
• Assist with environmental field work, such as water quality sampling and hydrology
• Write and edit reports, arrange for report drafting and production.
• Prepare site forms
• Liaise with clients, First Nations and others
• Undertake project planning and preparation, including mobilization and demobilization
• Ensure accuracy and timely submission of time sheets and expenses
• Catalogue and curate project materials
• Communicate company standards, policies and procedures to crews
• Provide leadership, support and effective communication as needed
• Provide supervision and ensure that projects are carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, and standards
• Work in accordance with Wood policies and procedures
• Work safely and be responsible for crew safety as per Wood safety policy
• Assist with projects as needed and take on other duties as assigned  

What you'll bring to WSP ...

• A Bachelor’s degree in archaeology, or anthropology with focus on archaeology
• Some experience conducting/participating in impact assessments or excavations
• Some knowledge of British Columbia archaeology
• Able to work in varying terrain and weather conditions
• Able to travel to locations throughout the province (at company expense)
• Able to work well with others for extended periods of time in potentially challenging conditions
• Able to follow and implement both technical and safety training and instructions
