WSP has a new opportunity for a Junior Water Resources Engineer to join our Ports, Coastal and Surface Water team on a full-time basis based in Vancouver. WSP has a new opportunity for a Junior Water Resources Engineer to join our Ports, Coastal and Surface Water team on a full-time basis based in Vancouver.


The Ports, Coastal and Surface Water group provides a variety of hydro-technical engineering services to many high-profile projects in the British Columbia region and throughout the world.

An overview of your role will include:   

  • Execute field data collection programs
  • Perform hydraulic and civil analysis, design and assessment related to river engineering, flood assessments, erosion control, surface water diversions, hydraulic structures, water intakes, and water control structures
  • Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering for water resources projects
  • Develop and apply hydrological and hydraulic models
  • Contribute to technical reports and proposals

You will have a background in:

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (with experience or focus on water resources, dams, hydraulic structures, river engineering or water management)
  • Must be eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training within British Columbia
  • Experience with field data collection and analysis, modelling and design would be an asset
  • Good communication, leadership, problem-solving, writing, and people skills
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and a high degree of motivation
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to motivate and lead by example
  • Experience with writing technical reports
  • Committed to technical excellence
