RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as leader on all acquisition and strategic alliance projects.
  • Work simultaneously on multiple potential transactions, including divestitures - you will work with leadership teams of all our international business lines.
  • Participate in all processes surrounding proposed business acquisitions and strategic alliances - from target identification to preliminary financial analysis, drafting letters of intent.
  • Perform financial and valuation analyses.
  • Participate and coordinate due diligence processes, including for legal, financial, commercial and tax matters.
  • Participate in and review due diligence reports and transaction documentation.
  • Prepare strategic analysis and presentations in support of transaction processes and strategic planning.
  • Monitor, track and manage the status of the acquisition pipeline.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in finance/accounting or other relevant field; CPA designation
  • 10 to 12 years of experience in the fields of accounting/finance, due diligence and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian and international financial and accounting concepts and principles, and an understanding of key business drivers, primarily those related to mergers and acquisitions.
  • Audit experience, including a solid understanding of financial statements and their various components.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment and with senior management.
  • Business and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French - both verbal and written.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Occasional travel.
