Positon Responsibilities

  • Perform conceptual and detailed design of coastal structures as part of shoreline stabilization studies (rock revetment, seawall, beach nourishment, jetties, etc.) and maritime works (wharves, marina, breakwater, navigation channel, dredging);
  • Lead the preparation of drawings and specifications based on design engineering standards and supervise the work of technicians and drafters;
  • Support senior engineers with all aspects of project management (budget tracking, scheduling, contract administration, change orders, cost control, client billing, etc.);
  • Prepare technical proposals and plan resources and budget to provide efficient project implementation and realization;
  • Participate to project design review by providing technical guidance to ensure project quality control;
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and technical memos
  • Support technical and administration of marine construction works
  • Establish and maintain effective working relations and communication with colleagues, clients and contractors;
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, coastal or marine engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in design and construction
  • knowledge of codes and standards relative to coastal/marine engineering
  • Autonomy and strong professional skills for project management and ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Client focus, marketing and business development skills;
  • Experience in engineering consulting is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
