WSP is currently hiring an Intermediate Air Quality Engineer/Scientist to join our Environmental group. Reporting to the department manager this position will be responsible for evaluating air quality impacts from projects and developing air quality management plans.



  • Analyze air quality using with at a minimum EPA MOVES, CAL3QHC/R, AERSCREEN, and AERMOD models;
  • Quantitatively determine local/regional contaminant and greenhouse gas emissions and predicting future emissions and their impact;
  • Manage and utilize a wide range of technical tools such as GIS, CAD, and spreadsheets;
  • Prepare air quality assessments in support of a wide range of clients including provincial transportation and environmental agencies, manufacturing and development companies;
  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to other air quality professionals
  • Prepare technical reports on study findings; and,
  • Prepare public presentation material.


  • Bachelor degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, meteorology, or related field;
  • Five years of professional experience in air quality or relatable field;
  • Technical skills in computer modelling;
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills;
  • Proven ability to use effective time management skills, handle multiple assignments, and to work both independently and with a team; and,
  • Project management and technical report writing experience required.
  • Bilingual French and English will be considered an asset.
