WSP is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer or Technologist to join our Calgary office Infrastructure group. Reporting to the Manager of Land Development, this position will work on land development projects for residential, commercial, and industrial projects in and around southern Alberta. You will apply your experience with preliminary and detailed engineering, due diligence reports, earthworks, site servicing, field inspections, proposal development, project management, mentorship of junior and intermediate staff, and other related activities.



  • Mentoring of junior and intermediate project engineers and technologists;
  • Due Diligence reports;
  • Preliminary/Detailed design;
  • Site grading / earthworks calculations;
  • Detailed Design of roadworks and site servicing including water supply systems, sanitary sewers, stormwater management, lot grading, shallow utilities, and erosion and sediment control during construction;
  • Contract Administration;
  • Proposal development; and
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Degree in Civil Engineering OR Diploma in Civil-related technologies;
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in the design of land development and municipal infrastructure projects;
  • Must be registered as a Professional Engineer / eligible for registration with APEGA OR a Certified Engineering Technologist / eligible for registration with ASET;
  • Knowledge of Alberta land development markets with established local client relationships is an asset;
  • Experience with all levels of municipal government, construction contractors, and developers;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, and presentation skills;
  • High attention to detail, and an ability to work well as a team player; and
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil3D as well as municipal infrastructure modelling software is an asset.LI-BK1
