Position Profile

Weaver is looking for Tax professionals at the Associate I or II level in our Houston office.  Our Tax Services practice focuses on two areas – Private Client Services and Business Tax Services.  The Business Tax Services team at Weaver works with private equity backed clients and large businesses . The Private Client Services team at Weaver helps clients manage and preserve their personal wealth.  Our scope of services includes, but is not limited to tax planning and preparation, entity structuring, wealth preservation, family succession consulting, and family office services.

A Tax Associate I or II prepares various types of federal and state tax returns for clients in a variety of industries and researches related key issues as needed.  A Tax Associate I or II also assists with other tax planning and consulting projects.  A Weaver Associate is a team player who exhibits initiative, accepts responsibility, communicates effectively, and manages multiple concurrent assignments of varying sizes and complexity.  A Weaver Associate enjoys flexibility, meaningful and diverse client work, a supportive and innovative work environment, four (4) weeks of paid time off per year, and many more benefits.

Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • CPA candidate required, CPA preferred
  • 0-2+ years of public accounting or industry experience, or a combination of both
  • Experience preparing and/or reviewing federal tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, and closely-held businesses
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks, CCH Axcess, CCH Engagement, or similar software
