What you will do:

Guest Services & Safety Officers are responsible for protecting and patrolling TCCA property, ensuring the safety of employees, guests, and our facilities. You will serve as the first point of contact with guests; fielding questions about our Company and the area, delivering superior customer service to over one million guests that visit us annually. This is a seasonal position for a five to six month period.

 

Here’s a day in the life:

  • Patrol TCCA property by foot, enforcing our policies and standards as needed.
  • Conduct perimeter checks, parking lot patrols, and exterior door checks. Perform lock-up and unlock buildings according to current procedures.
  • Communicate with guests as needed for information, advice, direction and any other guest service information.
  • Support Creamery Leadership as directed in responding to visitor concerns.
  • Investigate and respond to suspicious persons or activity.
  • Respond to stressful situations quickly and decisively utilizing effective conflict resolution skills and/or de-escalate certain situations.
  • Complete incident investigations and reports for theft & loss as directed.
  • Act as initial contact involving escalated incidents at the Creamery and Visitor Center until proper authorities arrive.
  • Provide assistance in non-emergency situations to guests and employees.
  • Administer first aid and request medical services, as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports on all violations, safety/security situations observed, and injuries/incidents.
  • Provide general information to the public about TCCA and the area, keeping current on company information, products and history.
  • Support TCCA special events as required.
  • Act as liaison with local emergency response services until relieved by TCCA Senior Management representative.
  • Provide aid or information to visitors for vehicle issues, such as locked doors or directional help.
  • Assist in motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic control as necessary, directing traffic to ensure smooth flow through congested areas.
  • Ability to work outside in summer weather conditions.
  • Establish and maintain effective and harmonious relationships with supervisors, employees, and guests.
  • Possess strong customer service skills, and a positive attitude.
  • Regular and consistent attendance required.
  • Have intimate knowledge of safety, security, and emergency response policies.
  • Maintains professionalism at all time.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • High School diploma or GED; or one to three years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination and experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain first aid, CPR, and AED certification.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in emergency/first responder and or security fields.
    • Strong customer service experience.
    • Decision making and ability to take initiative quickly.

 

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, walk and including stairs for an entire shift.
  • Must be able to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift 55 pounds.
  • Bending and reaching throughout shift.
  • Ability to hear normal levels of conversations.
  • Ability to use basic Microsoft applications and complete written reports.
  • Duties may include: repetitive motion of hands, lifting up to 55 pounds.
  • May encounter inclement weather and walking on uneven, slippery surfaces outside.
