To apply experience and knowledge in the automotive field to maintain and repair resort equipment, while attempting to transcend the maintenance stereotype.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following and other duties as assigned.

  • Diagnose and repair all vehicle problems, in an expedient fashion
  • Perform PM’s on all vehicles quickly and efficiently
  • Perform advanced fabrication and custom modifications
  • Improvise and pioneer efficient methods for service and repairs
  • Give advice and pointers to less experienced staff
  • Document all parts usage.
  • Document all work done on work orders
  • Follow all shop safety practices and dress code.
  • Maintain tools and work area
  • Manage motor pool and have accountability for damage on a daily basis.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
  • Provide a guest experience that exceeds the guest’s expectations.
  • Support Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives.
  • Adhere to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and adheres to Skier Responsibility Code and Colorado Skier Safety Act.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:        

May be asked to help with training if necessary

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Second to fifth year mechanic, journeyman level.

                 

Language Skills:    

      Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

        

Mathematical Skills:      

     Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

       

Reasoning Ability:           

       Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Computer Skills:          

        No computer skills required for this position

Other Qualifications:

  • Must have valid driver’s license.                                           
  • Must own basic tools.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
  • Must be able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher.
  • Must be able to function effectively in inclement weather conditions.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 100lbs and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  Must be able to work at high altitudes of 9200ft and higher.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

 

 

The wage range for this position is $26-$30hr.
