SUMMARY

The Banquets Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the delivery of all food and beverage for functions held in the Hotel and all details pertaining to functions being held in all Banquet and Meeting rooms in keeping with the standards prescribed by management. The position is primarily concerned with front of house activities.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieve maximum profitability and over-all success by controlling costs and quality of service.
  • Participation and input towards F & B Marketing activities.
  • Help in preparation of forecast and actual budget function sheets.
  • To supervise and coordinate daily operation of meeting/banquet set-ups and service.
  • Maintaining the Hotel Bar control policies and completion of necessary forms.
  • Following of proper purchasing and requisitioning procedures.
  • To assist in menu planning and pricing.
  • Development and maintenance of all department control procedures.
  • Supervision of weekly schedules. Schedule staff as necessary to ensure adequate and consistent levels of service
  • Supervision of Banquet Bar Requisitions
  • Following of proper purchasing and requisitioning procedures.
  • Consistent check of Banquet Food and Beverage quality, Banquet services and Plate presentation.
  • Ensuring that services meet customer specifications.
  • Quality of meeting room set-up.
  • Greet the customer upon arrival.
  • Provide quick service for last minute changes.
  • Dealing with customer complaints.
  • Teamwork/Relations with co-workers and management.
  • Inspection of Meeting Room prior to guest arrival ensuring that client specifications have been met.
  • Participation towards overall Hotel Maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Department meeting being held monthly

 KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Previous experience in similar job role is required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be self-directed and have efficient time management skills
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Possess a sense enthusiasm and commitment by holding self-accountable for results, setting priorities and meeting deliverables 
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience listed that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests, employees and supervisors.
  • Bi-lingual preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee: must be able to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, team members and others.  Is regularly required to sit; stand; walk and move through all areas of the casino; speak and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel.  May reach with hands and arms above shoulder level; bend/stoop, squat, balance, kneel, lift and push/pull.
