Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Senior Director, Programs & Partnerships, will oversee the implementation of high-quality programs and partnerships in NTC’s portfolio, operationalizing NTC’s mission and theory of action.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

The following is an overview of the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. The employee may perform other duties as required.

Lead Implementation of NTC’s Programs and Services

  • Oversee the quality of program and professional learning services at the site level, to promote a high-quality instructional culture in partner schools and districts
  • Lead efforts to contextualize NTC professional learning for partners, ensuring coherence with local context, initiatives, and priorities, and alignment with NTC’s theory of change
  • Gather and analyze data at multiple levels (student-level data, teacher practice, mentor/coach practice, school culture, leadership practice) to assess and improve program quality
  • Partner with district central offices, networks, and consortia to ensure alignment, relationship-building, and information flow to support program implementation
  • Provide consultative support to partners to deepen and sustain high-quality program implementation
  • Design and facilitate high-quality professional development opportunities related to standards, curriculum, assessment, with a lens of supporting priority subgroups (English Language Learners, Special Education Students, Students in Poverty, etc.).
  •  Collaborate with other members of the Program leadership team to further develop and manage the relationships with partner districts and programs
  • Play a supporting role with partnership-engagement, business development, and philanthropic efforts (including the preparation of scopes of work, funder proposals, and reports), including designing and leading presentations on program vision and strategy for clients and collaborating with other external partners who may also work with the district.

Leadership, Support, and Staff Supervision

  •  Drive professional learning for direct reports and their teams, including job-embedded coaching
  • Support Program Delivery staff as they prepare for and facilitate professional learning sessions and related program(s)
  • Oversee the work of Associate Program Consultants, Program Consultants, and Senior Program Consultants; provide ongoing support to build their capacity to consult with local program leads and support high-quality program implementation.
  • Develop and supervise team members time management, performance goals, expense reimbursements, and monitor weekly calendars/time management

Provide external facing support on behalf of NTC’s regional and national growth, impact, and sustainability efforts

  • Support building and sustaining partnerships with a variety of education stakeholders across NTC’s portfolio
  • Provide information and make presentations to various stakeholders about best practices related to high-quality coaching, instructional leadership, and building strong instructional cultures.
  • Represent NTC at events or meetings with stakeholders
  • Support annual renewal contract conversations with current clients
  • Support philanthropic fundraising efforts

    Qualifications:

  • Masters degree preferred
  • Passionate commitment to and belief in NTC’s mission and diversity, equity and inclusion - for the students NTC serves but also as a critical part of a healthy organizational culture
  • Broad knowledge of standards, content, assessment, and best practices for curriculum implementation and building optimal learning environments for underserved students - specifically students of color, English Language Learners, students with disabilities, immigrant students, and students living in poverty
  • A depth of understanding of how to create school and district strategies for formative and summative assessment, and how to create and drive partnerships with assessment providers
  •  At least 5 years teaching experience , ideally in a district that serves the students NTC identifies in our mission
  • Experience designing and leading professional development across multiple schools and/or school districts
  • Deep knowledge of teaching and learning, and of Common Core and teacher effectiveness
  • Strong working knowledge of formative assessment tools and protocolsSelf-directed individual and natural problem solver
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Comfort with handling multiple projects simultaneously as well as working with rapidly shifting priorities and targets
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to create trusting relationships
  • Passionate about improving the efficacy of new teachers, mentors and coaches, school leaders, and improving the academic outcomes of all students
  • Comfortable and confident with formal meeting facilitation, managing group dynamics as well as peer- and supervisor-coaching interactions
  • Committed  and able to lead Program staff and teams in meeting NTC's mission (to disrupt the predictability of educational inequities for systemically underserved students, from preschool through high school, by accelerating educator effectiveness).
  • Demonstrated commitment to NTC’s values (lead with equity, act with courage, empower students and communities, foster belonging, and stay curious)

ADA Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Work normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
  • Travel as needed, up to 50% nationally 
  • Limited physical effort required
  • May have substantial national travel based on office location/client assignments
  • Requires a valid driver’s license
  • Driving, grasping, hearing, repetitive hand motions, lifting under 50 pounds, pulling, pushing, reaching, sitting, talking, typing
