Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have a broad and deep understanding of adult learning theory and educator-facing technology solutions. The role is designed for an individual with strategic capacity to collaborate and coordinate with internal and external partners to manage an iterative product development process to create engaging and polished technology-based services for NTC. Critical to the role are project and people management skills, facility with managing multiple and complex sets of grant deliverables, and the ability to think strategically to meet evolving field needs.

  Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

Technology and Program Strategy

  • Lead NTC’s technology and asynchronous content strategy to align with NTC’s mission, vision and theory of change
  • Work across program team to define partner needs and expectations for flexibility and customization of offerings
  • Designing and executing pilots to test content and coaching complements
  • Overseeing competency-based exploration tying learning experiences to teacher incentives.

Content Development and Management

  • Develop and manage creation of content roadmap for technology/asynchronous content
  • Perform quality control reviews on multimedia components of products
    • Support identification of internal and external experts to create and contribute to media creation
  • Establish systems and structures to ensure content aligns to NTC theory of change, represents diversity of backgrounds/representation, and exceeds quality expectations
  • Provide feedback on the content creation and development to SMEs/LEx/etc 
  • Manage a team of Subject Matter Experts, Learning Experience designers, project managers to meet product deadlines and grant deliverables

Team Integration and Communication

  • Lead cross-functional and integration efforts with other teams, including MarComm, Technology, Programs and Partnerships, Development, Business Development.

Manage Grants and Partnerships to Support Technology Innovation 

  • Synthesize Learning across different tech partners NTC engages in for pilots
  • Track pilot, data, all grant commitments, milestones/goals
  • Secures pilot sites for future technology enhanced adult learning projects and initiatives in collaboration with program client leads
  • Represent the innovation team on external calls with funders, external partners
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Development team to situate Innovation work to prospective clients and funders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred
  • 10+ years experience in education nonprofit, education technology, multimedia publishing, product development
  • Professional level and/or academic writing and editing skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Supervisory/team leadership experience
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles with a focus on  blended learning contexts
  • Experience with coaching teachers with and through tech
  • Deep knowledge of principles of strong curriculum design, User experience and learner experience
  • Experience managing multiple projects at one time and engaging internal and external stakeholders towards goals
  • Self-starter who can handle ambiguity 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters degree or other graduate degree preferred
  • 10+ years K-12 classroom teaching experience and leading teams either in school, Charter Management Organizations, or district levels - from within or through partner organizations, with contexts serving NTC's targeted student populations (students of color, students in poverty, immigrant students, English Language Learners, and indigenous students) as a must
  • Experience in external representation with partners, funders, and other stakeholders
  • Knowledge of business development in pre-K-12 education; general business strategy and experience interfacing with high-level district officials
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical research, data-driven results, and leadership
  • Non-profit experience is preferred

 

ADA Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Work normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
  • Travel as needed, up to 30%
  • Limited physical effort required
  • May have substantial national travel based on office location/client assignments
  • Requires a valid driver’s license
