Our Garden Segment is searching for a Safety Coordinator in our Lebanon, OR facility. This position will coordinate and drive all safety-related functions, provide training and communications, maintain and update all required records and documentation, assist in manufacturing data collection, analysis, and process documentation, and remain current with State and Federal regulations.


  • Ensure the development, implementation, and updating of all required written safety and health programs, policies, and plans
  • Conduct accident/injury/incident investigations and evaluate work areas; ensure OSHA log and any other required documentation is updated, kept current, and maintained on a regular basis
  • Ensure that quarterly safety training and all other specifically required training is provided for all employees
  • Conduct initial safety training for all new hires and seasonal workers 
  • Perform work in accordance with established safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct safety and health walk-through of all workplace facilities; conduct safety evaluations on all positions
  • Conduct PPE assessments annually, review and update, as needed
  • Ensure compliance with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures at each machine
  • Responsible for environmental reporting including federal, state, and local requirements, driver safety training and DOT requirements, chemicals, and Safety Data Sheets
  • Lead, organize and conduct monthly safety committee meetings
  • Ensure proper forklift certifications for all forklift operators; review and certify each operator annually
  • Must be able to influence all employees to become active participants in the safety and health program
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a Health and Environmental field, preferred
  • Previous experience as a Safety Coordinator or similar role within a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate to employees at all levels
  • Proficient level of experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail with strong communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with team members
  • High level of energy and sense of urgency; self-starter; strong and effective multi-tasker
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
