THE OPPORTUNITY
The Manager Data Team is responsible for all aspects of investment data management for Cambridge Associates. This includes data collection, document management, data interpretation, data quality control, and request management.
Assistant Project Managers on the Manager Data Team will drive multiple projects of various size and complexity focusing on enhancement of existing processes/tools/applications or creation of new processes/tools/applications and data quality management. Assistant Project Managers are expected to lead several small projects or 1-2 large projects as the core of their role. In addition to managing projects, the individual will support and collaborate with the Directors and Managers in identifying initiatives for the group as a whole and could be asked to manage personnel based on team growth and need.
RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Provide leadership on project management tasks under the direction of the team’s Project and Operations Managers
§ Create independently or contribute to the creation of project plans and schedules, depending on project scale
§ Analyze project data to identify problems, produce insights, and make recommendations
§ Execute on project plans by assigning work, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, creating tracking sheets, managing risks and scope changes, and documenting
§ Provide input into project requirements and success metrics
§ Prepare written updates and present periodically to stakeholders on progress as well as problems and solutions
§ Build relationships across departments to facilitate cross functional projects
§ Bring creative solutioning and outside the box thinking to complex challenges
QUALIFICATIONS
§ Proven track record of working on projects in data-focused environment required. Experience in operations or the investment management industry a plus.
§ Deep expertise in two or more of the following domain areas as a project lead: project management, data quality management, data analysis, process improvement, or investment data
§ Proven relationship management skills; an ability to direct and lead large scale project efforts amongst individuals across different functional groups
§ Effective written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate with internal and external parties at all levels
§ Ability to write thorough business requirements
§ Ability to pivot project plans and outcomes due to changing budgets, priorities, or other factors
§ Strong Excel skills required. SQL skills and Asana experience a plus
