Position Summary:

The Athletic Training Interns provide established minimum standards of care for Arkansas State University NCAA student-athletes competing in: Women’s Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Track and Field (Starting July 1st, 2024) and two Football (Starting June 1st, 2024)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Duties will include practice / game coverage, travel and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.  In addition Interns will assist six other staff athletic trainers with coverage of five coed athletic training rooms, be involved with instruction and supervision of athletic training students, and handle various duties as assigned by the head athletic trainer.  Knowledge of University, Sun Belt Conference and NCAA rules and procedures.  Interns must have a BOC Certification or be eligible for the NATA-BOC exam and be eligible for an Arkansas State Board of Athletic Training License / Permit.  

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Athletic Trainers Licensure is required to practice athletic training in the state of Arkansas as per Act 17-93-407. Licensure passing the board approved Board of Certification exam and maintaining current certification and the required continuing education units. Licensure is defined and regulated by the Arkansas State Athletic Training Practice Act, which can be viewed at www.aratb.org

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday 8a.m. - 5p.m.
Will include nights and weekends
Regular and reliable attendance required.

Minimum Qualifications:

•High school graduate or equivalent.
