Grounds Person
Melbourne Grammar School is seeking a Grounds Person to join the School in this hands-on position located in our Grimwade campus.

Reporting to the Grounds Manager, this role is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the School’s sporting fields, cricket pitches, grounds, synthetic surfaces, garden beds and associated areas.

The School takes great pride in consistently presenting the School’s playing and training fields in optimum condition and the Grounds Person plays a key role in achieving this. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in ensuring the ongoing standards of well-established grounds in a historic school are kept at the highest level, with fields and pitches, lawns and open areas are all maintained to a professional standard.

You will:

• Ensure the professional presentation of the Melbourne Grammar School ovals and synthetic surfaces for all matches and training sessions.
• Maintain the school lawns to ensure they are always in peak condition.
• Prepare turf centre cricket pitches and practice pitches to a high standard
• Handle equipment, chemicals and operate machinery in a safe and responsible manner.
• Assist with the maintenance of the gardens and collaborating with outside contractors when required.
• Stay abreast of all irrigation programming to ensure efficient and effective irrigation practices.
• Identify and recommend improvements to ensure the ongoing vitality of the schools turf areas.
