Title: Environmental Technician
Location: Cleveland, TN
Salary: $65,500+
Schedule: Monday-Friday with frequent weekend/overnight travel
Focus: The Environmental Technician is responsible for providing environmental support and expertise for the cost-effective management of remediation sites and facilities.
Environmental Technician Essential Job Functions:
- Perform routine & non-routine investigation of Olin’s environmental sites; Apply standard procedures and equipment as required to accomplish objectives.
- Accurately record and check data and results of monitored work; Prepare field reports and spreadsheets as required.
- Familiarity or ability to develop familiarity with current environmental technologies, regulations, sampling procedures, and analytical protocols.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationship with Site Leader; Communicate pertinent information for assigned projects.
- Coordinate sampling events with the site personnel and/or Site Leader.
- Work as a team with other technicians or consultants during investigation and remediation phases.
- Assist with custodial care and maintenance actives at closed sites.
- Assist in completing special projects and achieving Corporate Environmental Remediation Group goals, with functional guidance and support.
- Capable of obtaining field sampling certifications as needed.
Environmental Technician Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree* in Environmental Health & Safety or related discipline preferred.
- Must meet one of the following education or experience requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in environmental sampling; OR
- Bachelor's degree* in Environmental Health & Safety or related discipline in lieu of work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to obtain OSHA-40 certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license
