Title: Maintenance Technician (Pipefitter) 
Location: East Alton, IL

Salary:  $40.35/hour
Schedule: The current schedule is a straight second shift (S/2) or straight third shift (S/3).

Maintenance Technician (Pipefitter) Essential Functions*:

  • Repair and replace pipes and hydraulic lines, make hydraulic hoses, and install new piping on various equipment.
  • Rebuild cylinders and pumps.
  • Use a variety of hand tools and powered tools.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements including lockout/tagout and wearing required PPE. 

Maintenance Technician (Pipefitter) Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must meet one of the following requirements:
    • Minimum five-years recent related Pipefitter industrial/maintenance experience; OR
    • A four-year related apprenticeship certification.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, tractors, overhead cranes, and backhoes preferred. 
  • Must be willing to go through training programs for other trades such as millwright and welding; experience within a related Maintenance Technician, Millwright, Welding, and/or Carpentry environment is preferred.
  • Position requires climbing ladders, working at heights, and entering confined spaces.
  • Flexibility to work other schedules, weekends, and forced overtime. 

Location-Specific Requirements: 

  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. 
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
