THE OPPORTUNITY

Cambridge Associates is seeking an RFP Writer, Senior Associate, to join our London office to support our international Client Directors across EMEA and APAC. 

 

The RFP Writer will report to the “Head of EMEA and APAC Global Client Solutions (GCS) Operations”, based in London.

 

Your responsibilities?

As Cambridge Associates continues to grow, the RFP Writer will play a key role in supporting business development by preparing compelling, accurate, and timely responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) and related documents.

 

As part of that workflow, we are seeking an RFP Writer to support Client Directors and Client Associates and Analysts with the end-to-end RFP and DDQ processes in EMEA and APAC to support the firm’s growth.  

 

You will coordinate, create, and deliver responses for Request for Proposal (RFP), Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQ), and other external client-related requests, which accurately and favorably represent the organization, and its investment solutions and services, to prospective and existing external clients.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering an outstanding client experience, possess a commercial mindset, and excel in written communication and collaborative problem-solving.

 

In addition, knowledge of investments, particularly private markets, and industry experience is strongly desired.  Being a strong team player is essential.

  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • RFP Management:
    • Partner with the Head of EMEA and APAC GCS Operations to oversee the company’s regional responses to RFPs and proposals from start to submission, including the development of project plans and strategies and the drafting of content ensuring all content meets quality standards and deadlines are met.
    • Coordinate with various internal stakeholders (investment professionals, legal, compliance, operations) to gather necessary information for RFP responses.
    • In partnership with the Head of EMEA and APAC GCS Operations, and other Client Directors, drive a scalable and repeatable RFP process including knowledge database management, message writing, data collection, content synthesis, timeline management, approvals process, and reporting.
    • Leverage deep knowledge of private markets to prepare high-quality responses to RFPs and DDQs, showcasing the firm’s investment strategies and capabilities.
    • Demonstrate expertise in private markets through clear, accurate, and compelling written communication.

 

  • DDQ Management:
    • Manage the due diligence questionnaire (DDQ) process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of client inquiries.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information required for DDQ responses.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and client requirements related to due diligence.

 

 

  • Process Improvement:
    • In partnership with the Head of EMEA and APAC GCS Operations:
    • Review and enhance RFP and DDQ processes to streamline efficiency and improve response quality.
    • Implement best practices and tools to optimize the RFP and DDQ workflow.
    • Conduct RFP win/loss analysis, gather client feedback, and identify and report on areas to improve client targeting efforts and win rates.
    • Continuously evaluate and identify technology enhancements.

  • Other responsibilities:
    • Ownership for data integrity of the CRM (Dynamics) system – ongoing maintenance and updating of client and prospect contact information.
    • Undertake initial client screening to assess professional investor suitability, including the completion of client classification forms.
    • Work with the Client Directors and client onboarding team to facilitate successful onboarding of new clients.
    • Assist with the planning and execution of client events (roundtables, lunches) including support for client outreach.
    • Other client related work such as supporting the creation of pitchbooks and marketing materials.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in investment management, with a focus on RFP and DDQ processes for institutional clients is preferred. Or a focus within marketing operations, managing a large diverse operational function would also be considered.
  • An understanding of various asset classes, investment strategies, and financial markets.
  • Proven track record in project management and operating across cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in client deliverables.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ideally experience adopting and using AI-enabled software to assist with optimizing the RFP process and content creation.
