Summary of responsibilities:
The Senior Analyst, Advanced Analytics is responsible for developing and implementing artificial intelligence models and quantitative tools to support decision-making and operational planning. The incumbent is also responsible for conducting advanced data analysis. The Senior Analyst, Advanced Analytics performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required. The ideal candidate would have knowledge and experience with computer vision models.
What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:
• Graduation from a recognized university with a specialization in operations research, mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, physics, or another speciality relevant to the duties of the position.
• A minimum of four years of experience in data mining, data analysis and synthesis.
• Previous experience in programming and developing mathematical models using software such as SAS, R, SPSS, MATLAB, Python.
• Advanced knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts and application.
• Experience working with large datasets.
• Experience in the development of mathematical models to support business needs.
• Experience drafting clear and concise reports and presentations with a strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations that synthesize findings in a business context.
This position is best suited to individuals with the following skills and abilities:
• Strong technical and programming skills with an emphasis on analytical software.
• Strong mathematical skills with the ability to understand and apply concepts.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with some of the following analytical methodologies: statistical analysis, machine learning, forecasting, discrete event simulation, mathematical programming, stochastic modeling, visual analytics, etc.
• Strong skills in research, analysis and problem-solving accompanied by an ability to synthesize and interpret complex information and situations.
• Ability to understand client’s needs and translate business requirements into technical directions.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to clearly communicate ideas and results to non-technical and business audience.
• Meticulous, rigorous, and thorough.
Valuable skills include:
• Knowledge of CATSA's mandate and priorities, as well as an awareness of relevant legislation impacting CATSA.
• Master’s degree in operations research, mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or related field.
• Experience conducting investigations into data discrepancies.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience using Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI.
• Knowledge of simulation development programs such as Arena or Simio.
Specific work requirements
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Language Profile: English Essential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and
• Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
