Summary of responsibilities:

The Advisor, Program Coordination is responsible for supporting the management team (e.g. Managers, General Managers, Directors, and Vice-President) through program facilitation, management, and coordination to ensure that branch policies, programs and priorities are successfully implemented. The incumbent is also responsible for coordinating key files and providing research and advice on action plans, processes, activities, and other projects as they relate to CATSA’s mandate, as well as drafting reports, briefing notes, and other written documents. The Advisor, Program Coordination performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.

What you need to succeed

To qualify for the position, you must have:

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a specialization in business, communications, or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience planning, organizing, and coordinating program implementation, projects, and deliverables.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience writing various documents, including briefing materials, presentations, policies, procedures, letters, reports, or strategic documents.
  • Experience providing analysis and support to various management levels.
  • Project management knowledge, skills, and experience, including project planning, monitoring, and status reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite including Excel, Project, Visio, Word, PowerPoint.

Valuable skills include:

  • Knowledge of CATSA’s priorities and mandate, as well as legislation impacting CATSA activities.
  • Knowledge of governance frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with internal and/or external audits, primarily in a coordination role.
  • Experience working as a secretary for a committee of working group.
  • Experience in editing, proofreading, and translation.
  • Knowledge of the aviation industry and the related regulatory and security issues.

Specific work requirements

  • Ability to work overtime as required;
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Language Profile: Bilingual BBBB;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
