$140,000 to $155,000 plus incentive

 Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Production, the Director of Production is responsible for overseeing all production operations, personnel, and processes at the seafood processing and preparation plant for all shifts at its 200,000 sq. ft. Rancho Dominguez headquarters in the Los Angeles South Bay area. This includes managing compliance with food safety regulations, quality assurance programs, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in food manufacturing operations, a strong background in HACCP, GMP, and proven leadership abilities.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Oversee all production activities including receiving, processing, packaging, storage, and distribution to ensure efficient operations, quality control, and adherence to food safety standards.

- Ensure strict compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all applicable local, state, and federal food safety regulations.

- Manage production staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.

- Continuously monitor and optimize production processes, equipment performance, and resource utilization to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.

- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to establish and enforce quality control procedures, conduct inspections, and investigate non-conformances.

- Develop and manage production budgets, forecasting, inventory control, and supply chain logistics.

- Maintain detailed records and documentation for audits, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- Foster a culture of food safety, quality, and operational excellence through effective leadership and team management.

 Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in a food manufacturing or chilled processing environment, preferably in the seafood industry.

- Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP principles, GMP requirements, SQF standards, and other applicable food safety regulations.

- Proven track record in successfully implementing and maintaining HACCP, GMP, and SQF programs.

- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.

- Proficient in data analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.

- Familiarity with ERP systems, manufacturing software, and other production-related technologies.

- HACCP Certification, and other relevant food safety certifications are highly desirable.
