Position Summary:

The Transfer Coordinator is responsible for processing admissions documentation through various sources (document uploader, fax, email, mail, etc.), determining eligibility for admission into program, and performing GPA calculations on students that have multiple transcripts to establish overall GPA.

The incumbent also serves as Veterans Representative for traditional (i.e., face to face) veterans and dependents who are eligible to receive educational benefits from Veterans Administration or utilize Tuition Assistance (TA) from the United States Department of Defense (DOD).

Duties & Responsibilities:

AS Veteran’s Representative:

  • Facilitate GI Bill for traditional veterans and their dependents
  • Enter information needed for Tuition Assistance (TA) for all branches of military
  • Advise current and prospective military-connected students and dependents in attaining educational benefits offered by the VA
  • Handle bi-yearly recertification with state approving agency
  • Update tuition and fees for Department of Defense MOU
  • Assist with student inquiries – phone, e-mail, live chat
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

As Data Entry Specialist:

  • Review documentation, determine validity of documentation (e.g. teaching licenses etc. to align with departmental requirements), and decide which courses will transfer
  • Work with chairs and deans on transfer work equivalency
  • Enter transfer work course by course into database
  • Perform GPA calculations on students that have multiple transcripts to establish overall GPA
  • Communicate transcript evaluation results to students

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of the principles and practices of mathematics and statistics
Knowledge of research and analysis techniques and methods
Knowledge of work-related subject area
Knowledge of computers and software applications
Ability to prepare, present, and review oral and written information and reports
Ability to research and analyze related work program information
Ability to develop, recommend, interpret, and apply policies and procedures
Ability to analyze financial records and prepare reports
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of others

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed

Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education equivalent of a High School Diploma

One (1) year of specialized training in business management, business education, or a related field

Two (2) years of experience in a specialized or a related field applicable to work performed

Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or parts of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee
