Position Summary:

In pursuit of this commitment, Arkansas State University-Jonesboro, a Football Bowl Subdivision member of the Sun Belt Conference that sponsors 16 sports, seeks applicants for an Assistant Director of Development Operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  •       Responsible for assisting Red Wolves Foundation staff with facilitating ticket sales, RWF memberships, and other methods of revenue generation.
  •       Assists the Assistant AD for External Engagement & Donor Experience in coordinating all events that fall under the purview of the Red Wolves Foundation (i.e. coaches caravans, sport-specific booster clubs, etc.).
  •      Coordinate and facilitate sport-specific booster clubs, including membership growth, implementation of benefits, and planning of events (if applicable) as directed by the Assistant AD for External Engagement & Donor Experience.
  •      Works with events team and major gifts staff to help coordinate stewardship process and benefit fulfillment of all things related to booster clubs, annual fund donors, and Scarlet Society donors.
  •       Assists with pulling reports and handling invoices/pledges for donations and payments.
  •       Under guidance from Director of Ticketing & Annual Giving, run point on parking operations for gamedays as it relates to football and basketball, including working with secondary partner (currently RevelXP)  .
  •       Regularly participates in assisting with secondary partners of the RWF.
  •       Initiate and facilitate collegial and cooperative relationships and open communications with other ASU Advancement staff, and other University and Athletic sports programs andepartments in advancing the mission, philosophy, and objectives of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
  •       Develop specific working knowledge of relevant Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Red Wolves Foundation computer systemnecessary in completion of day-to-day business.  As directed and needed, creator assemble documents or reports for either internal or external uses in advancing or evaluating AthletidevelopmentParticipate in all development efforts with the ASU Advancement team and comply with all reporting and accountability standards.
  •      Maintain knowledge of and comply witall rules, regulations, policies and guidelines of the Red Wolves Foundation, Arkansas State University, the Sun Belt Conference and the NCAA.
  •      Manage sensitive and confidential informatiorelated to donors, ticket holders, student-athletes, coaches and staff utilizing discretioand correct decisions.
  •      Execute related duties of ASU Athletics, as requested or assigned by the Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics and/or the Deputy Athletic Director for Development & Revenue Generation.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge of development or fundraising concepts

Maintain knowledge of Arkansas State Athletics and University policies and procedures

Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion

Ability to work well with a team or individually

Effective oral and written communication skills, and have a strong attention to detail

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required

Experience in donor/ticket software is preferred

Maintain high standard of ethics and integrity related to intercollegiate athletics

Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics

Demonstrated ability to maintain and develop personal relationships with all the Athletic Department's many constituencies, including donors, prospects, ticket holders, fans, student-athletes, professional representatives, coaches, vendors, media, and the University community

Demonstrated knowledge of development or fundraising concepts

Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA and conference guidelines, policies, rules and regulations

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with frequent nights, weekends and holidays.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned Bachelor's Degree in Sport Administration, Marketing, or a related field

Ideal candidate would have 1-2 years of relevant work experience as an intern or graduate assistant
