


Summary : The Spa Manager assists the spa director in driving and leading the operational and financial direction of the spa while ensuring the highest quality of guest services. The Assistant Director helps to oversee the management direction and development of the retail, reception and attendant staff as well as massage, esthetics, salon. Develops, monitors, and reviews all staffing, scheduling, facility operations, supply procurement, revenue management, safety training, standard operating procedures, payroll management and guest service satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· To share responsibility for the overall management and performance of the Spa daily operation.
· Manager on Duty in Director’s absence and/or as needed.
· Excellent in managing guest service and handling guest relations.
· Exceptional skills in running a large SPA Operation Team in a seasonal environment (Esthetics, Massage, Beauty Salon, Lockers, pools, and fitness)
· Experience in achieving retail and revenue goals.
· Ability to perform general administrative tasks, maintain procedures for purchasing and inventory.
· Experience in managing business to budgets, Payroll, Scheduling and maintaining an internal calendar as well as product inventory and ordering.
· Extensive computer knowledge and computer applications.
· Ability to take initiative, ownership and prioritize tasks.
· Exhibit a professional and polite appearance at all times.
· Ability to create supportive and nurturing environment which consistently delivers a spa experience that exceeds guest and staff expectations.
· Direct involvement in hiring, counseling and terminations of all spa and retail employees.
· Hold regular meetings to keep staff up to date on all aspects of the Spa’s operation.
· Develops departmental procedures and standards in order to ensure an efficient and positve guest experience on an ongoing basis.
· Responsible for training and accountability of service standards for all employees including supervisors.
· Ensure Equipment is maintained in good working order.
· Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and providers.
· Ensure stock and cash items are kept safely under lock and key.
· Minimize or eliminate losses through negligence with monitoring programs.
· Manage inventory effectively and control ongoing service and product margin analysis to ensure profitability.
· Implement opportunities for managing operational costs and boosting the bottom line.
· Develop procedures for accurate inventory control and monitoring.
· Develop and maintain compensation guidelines for customer complaint handling.
· Anticipate, identify and ensure customer needs are being met in the best possible way.
· Monitor customer satisfaction with surveys, focus groups and comment cards.
· Guide staff to become caring problem solvers, cooperative, accommodating and fair.
· Assists in creating the annual budgets and forecasts for both the spa and retail and ensures that the operations meet those numbers on a monthly basis.
· Assist in developing Spa’s Marketing Strategy and ensure a consistent image is being portrayed.
· Ensure the Spa is always staged for maximum buyer impact.
· Assists in developing and making recommendations on spa treatments and packages to better utilize the skills of the staff as well as the use of the facilities
· Create ongoing in-house promotions and activities to stimulate sales, staff and customers.
· Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
· Maintain an attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous attitude to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
· Demonstrate an exceptional level of professionalism for the staff to emulate.
· Develop and maintain gracious and efficient front desk procedures.
· Create a motivating environment of sincerity, warmth and fun for staff and guests.
· Perform staff evaluations with proposed action plans.

· Attend meetings/training as required by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise The Spa at the Peaks Resort and all departments within. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
· Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Assistant or Spa Manager in a luxury spa setting.
· Three to five years of related experience
· Extensive knowledge of spa treatments.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Explorer, Outlook Internet software; HotSOS system, Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software.
Other Qualifications:
· Proficient in receptions/ reservation systems & Knowledge of Spa Systems. SpaSoft knowledge is a plus

Physical Demands:
· Physical mobility to bend, lift, and stand for prolonged periods.

Pay Range is $60,000-$70,000 DOE
