Description:

This position performs operational support, capacity planning, configuration management (move, adds changes) and administration for the company's, IP and Network infrastructure to meet company and departmental goals and standards for availability, capacity, security and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for company network environment supporting over 500 personnel in two sites. Monitor, maintain troubleshoot, network to include ISP, MPLS, and VPN tunnels.
  • Manage Cisco firewalls, switches, routers, wireless devices, etc. Build VPN’s tunnels, NAT, Access-list.
  • Responsible for the development, documentation, and communication of all new network modifications and/or enhancements to support projects
  • Manage vendor relationships to include contract negotiation.
  • Provide IT staff training and technical support to the user community on use of IT network services.
  • Responsible for network contingency planning and documentation including disaster recovery and BCP
  • Participates in the development of system policies and procedures in accordance with company, PCI, and SSAE 16 standards; contractual obligations and industry best practices.
  • Manages network and telecommunication budget.
  • Assists with the definition and enforcement of security standards in accordance with industry standards.
  • Adhere to change management process.
  • Performs rotating on-call and provides 24x7 network support
  • Domestic and International travel will be required.
  • Residential internet and telephone service required for this support role.

 

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN technologies; TCP/IP, IPsec, VPN, VTP, Trunking, Spanning Tree (STP/RSPT) VLAN, Ether Channel, HSRP, SPAN/RSPAN, NAT, DNS, SSL, SNMP, QoS, EIGRP, HA design and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of communication protocols of Microsoft Windows, VMware and Citrix.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Knowledge of tools such as SolarWinds and Wireshark.
  • Strong customer service, analytical, communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Vendor Management experience
  • Performs hands-on support of production systems including networking LAN/WAN, internal/external security systems, and remote access systems.
  • Monitors and reports on network and system capacity utilization.

Required Work Experience:

  • 5+ year’s full-time experience maintaining local-area and wide-area networks.
  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN technologies; TCP/IP, IPsec, VPN, VTP, Trunking, Spanning Tree (STP/RSPT) VLAN, Ether Channel, HSRP, SPAN/RSPAN, NAT, DNS, SSL, SNMP, QoS, EIGRP, HA design and optimization
  • Strong knowledge in security systems and methods; AAA, TACACS+, Radius, IDS/IPS, Centralized logging, and Event Management systems
  • Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills - Experience working with Wireshark and SolarWinds
  • Knowledge working in PCI environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Cisco network device configuration.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in structured, problem-solving methodology.
  • Strong knowledge of network security fundamentals to provide design guidance.

 

Required Work Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • CCNP Cisco Certified Network Professional
  • College degree or equivalent experience

 

Desired Skills:

  • Avaya phone system knowledge - call center operations or telephony experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems, VMWare, Citrix
  • Project Management fundamentals is a plus

Travel / Rotation Requirements:

  • 15% Schedule may vary according to business needs
