Description

Hudson River HealthCare provides the highest quality of comprehensive primary, preventative and behavioral health services to all who see it, regardless of insurance status and ability to pay, especially for the underserved and vulnerable. Hudson River HealthCare (“HRHCare”) is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. HRHCare is currently seeking a full-time Driver/Outreach Worker to support our team in Spring Valley.

Drives all mobile units and conducts street outreach in areas where high risk populations are likely to congregate.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

-Drives all medical units and small vans.

-Assists patients in and out of vehicle when necessary.

-Maintains vehicles in efficient operating condition, i.e., checks gas, oil, water and tire pressure after each trip, cleans inside and outside of vehicle, and reports any malfunctions as soon as they occur.

-Keeps mobile units stocked with supplies, i.e., updated information/materials, other health related information, which includes information provided by Hudson River HealthCare.

-Attends local events such as health fairs, ethnic celebrations, etc. to provide literature or other information about Hudson River HealthCare services.

-Participates as a member of the outreach team in outreach van activities, such as by providing information about Hudson River HealthCare’s services and makes appropriate referrals.

-Collects accurate data, as required.

 

Minimum Education Requirement:

  • High School Graduate/GED/Equivalent Work Experience
  • Valid NYS Drivers License with no infractions
  • AIDS Institute Approved Counseling Course
  • Custodial Experience (Preferred)

Minimum Related Work Experience:

  • 0-1 year

Preferred Specialized Skills and Knowledge: Ability to communicate in English and Spanish (orally and written)
