Duties and responsibilities:

  • Installs, maintains and repair work common to the trade of general building repairs including HVAC
  • Assist in repair of plumbing, mechanical, electrical and communication services
  • Performs routine repair and preventive maintenance of equipment and facilities
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to work with various applications, including Building Management Systems
  • Responsible for ongoing maintenance and operations of the heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems and equipment, including the boiler plant
  • Prepare offices for initial occupancy, turn-over rooms and apartments as needed, which may include painting, and coordinating additional services
  • Oversee building emergency response systems including patient/resident emergency call systems
  • Maintains clear path of egress from buildings in all weather conditions
  • Coordinates inspections, equipment repair, and contractors for equipment maintenance as needed
  • Conduct walk-through of buildings and create necessary work-orders.
  • Maintain logs and forms to support policies and procedures for proper building management
  • Ensure outside contract services are properly completed/supervised in accordance with contracts
  • Has the ability to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively
  • Communicate effectively, appropriately both verbally and via written correspondence
  • Maintain clean, orderly work environment
  • Facilitates emergency assistance as necessary, as outlined in a training manual
  • Ability to operate small equipment
  • Routine on-call schedule
  • Daytime security
