General Surgery - Beautiful Central Vermont

Unique opportunity with great potential for a General Surgeon to join our well-established successful practice in an inviting and welcoming community. 

Qualifications of Applicants:

A well-rounded General Surgeon will need to be skilled in bread/butter laparoscopic and open procedures, have an interest in breast surgery. Ability perform endoscopies.
 

* Board Certified or board eligible in General Surgery.

* Allopathic and osteopathic physicians will be considered equally

  • United States-born and trained physicians and foreign-born physicians who have completed a US residency and/or fellowship will be considered equally.
  • In-practice physicians, residents or fellows, and military-trained physicians will be considered equally.

Description of the practice:

Gifford Medical Center is a financially stable, not-for-profit hospital that has been providing healthcare in beautiful Central Vermont since 1903.  A Critical Access Hospital (CAH) and a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a progressive philosophy, supportive administrative team, and advanced technology. 

Gifford Healthcare is well known for its progressive approach to providing primary, specialty, and surgical care to the many communities it serves.  It is home to the first birthing center in Vermont, it has modern imaging and diagnostic equipment, an award-winning nursing home and child enrichment center, as well as outstanding food service run by top chefs.  

As an employee, the successful General Surgeon will receive a competitive salary, generous benefits package, relocation assistance, and education loan repayment, if applicable. 

The physician will also receive an annual allowance for licensing, DEA registration, CME reimbursement, medical journal subscriptions, and memberships of societies.

Call coverage: 10 days a month.

In your free time, you can take advantage of all the recreational activities Vermont has to offer: hiking, camping, biking, kayaking, sailing, a photographer’s dream.  In the colder weather, you can spend time cross country or downhill skiing, snowshoeing, skating, and snowmobiling.
