This position is for a self-motivated scientist with strong technical background in NGS data analysis, especially in the field of single-cell sequencing and spatial genomics. The candidate will play the pivotal role of analyzing Spatial Genomics data, providing high-quality report, genomics expertise, consulting to collaborators. BGI’s proprietary Stereo-Seq technology offers orders of magnitude better performance (such as sample size and resolution) compared with other technologies (See This candidate will work with influential Principal Investigators or industrial partners to apply this innovative technology to their respective research areas to generate breakthrough scientific findings and publications.


Major Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Spatial genomics data analysis, including data quality control and data mining.
  • Build spatial genomics data analysis pipeline.
  • Assist Bioinformatics Engineers to optimize or develop spatial genomics analysis algorithms.
  • Work with cross-functional team to drive BGI’s Spatial Genomics product development.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer, Software, Mathematics or related fields. Or Master degree with 3+ years of related industrial experience.
  • Proficient in Python or R programming.
  • 2+ years experience in single cell or spatial genomics data analysis.
  • Publications on single cell or spatial genomics data analysis in recent 5 years.


Preferred Experience:

  • Developing data analysis pipelines
  • Deep learning machine learning
  • Statistical analysis
  • Software development for biologists
